External network

An external network resource (ExternalNetwork) represents an external network outside the cluster. External networks can provide service endpoint with overlapping IPs. A BGP peer can declare itself as part of an external network and propagate routes to the service endpoints in the external network to allow egress traffic from the cluster to reach the service endpoints via the egress gateways. Those routes are programmed in the dedicated kernel routing table which has the index defined by the external network resource.

For kubectl commands, the following case-insensitive aliases may be used to specify the resource type on the CLI: externalnetwork.projectcalico.org, externalnetworks.projectcalico.org and abbreviations such as externalnetwork.p and externalnetworks.p.
